We're glad to have you as a part of Aspies of the World! Here you can make new friends, connect with old ones, and talk about life and its mysteries! AotW is an online community for Aspies (people with Asperger's Syndrome) to connect and socialize without the awkward social interactions. We are not an advocacy group so we won't come under any fire from people such as Autism Speaks or Athletes Against Autism. We hope you enjoy it and if you have any suggestions, post them in the Suggestions thread!

Meet the Staff
From day one the staff has been chosen: leemcd56, Maninthebottle, and Kazuto. Feel free to contact either of them if you have any questions or concerns. Please, no flaming. We are polite people and we hope to resolve any issues and answer any questions without a problem.

Asperger's Syndrome
Asperger's Syndrome (AS) is a neurological difference that gives the person a strong interest in one or more particular subjects but makes social interactions awkward. Contrary to popular belief Asperger's Syndrome is not an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Terminology
Online, and often in public, people on the autism spectrum are referred to as Auties. People with Asperger's Syndrome are referred to as Aspies. Those who are neither Aspies are Auties and are socially considered 'normal' are Neurotypicals (NTs).
